Catechins, the dietetic phytochemicals existing in green tea (Camellia sinensis), are considered to be powerful inducers of cytotoxicity and apoptosis to cancer cells. Epicatechin (EC), Catechin (C), epigallocatechin (EGC) and epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) are the four primary ingredients of green tea polyphenols (GTPs).
