Synthesis and investigation of electromagnetic properties of new ferrocene-containing polyphenylenes

Soluble ferrocene-containing polyphenylenes were synthesized by the trimerization polycondensation of 1,1'-diacetylferrocene and characterized. The regulating effect of a monosubstituted acetyl derivative of ferrocene on the properties of the final products was studied. The thermal treatment of the polymers at 150-350°C led to the formation of network structures and the appearance of magnetic order. Magnetic and electrical properties of the polymers were investigated.
