AN ANALYSIS ON THE GRID CODES AT THE EUROPEAN LEVEL UNDER THE PRISM OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES INTEGRATION

This paper identifies and analyses the practices in the EU countries aiming to identify gaps and barriers for integrating the emerging technologies RES, storage, Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Demand Response flexibility (DR) in existing grid codes. For this reason, an extended analysis was performed to both the Existing Network Codes and Implementation Guidance Documents related to emerging technologies integration in regulations. Also, the status of each Member State regarding their intention to integrate further regulations to achieve EU targets according to their published National and Energy Climate Plans is investigated and certain findings are presented.
