Detection of SRY gene in cell cultures by in situ polymerase chain reaction

The single copy SRY gene was amplified by in situ PCR in cultured HICMA cells and the amplified products were detected with digoxigenin labeled probes generated using the PCR. Comparative studies indicated that the sensitivity in situ PCR is 5 times than in situ hybridization.
