Proteomic analysis of granule of hemocytes from Mytilus coruscus

2012
The blood cells of mussel play an important role in the hosts immune defense mechanism. We explore the protein composi- tion in the granule of hemocytes from Mytilus coruscus by using linear-ion-trap-quadrupole mass spectrometry ( LTQ-Orbitrap) combined with Shotgun strategy. A total of 125 high-abundance proteins are identified by Mascot searching methods, including cytoskeletal pro- teins, cell adhesion proteins, arginine kinases and metabolism-related enzymes, etc. . The results lay a foundation for further studies on the composition of mussel protein particles, screening of its immune molecular markers as well as its immune mechanism.
