Service Level Agreement Negotiation and Monitoring System in Cloud Computing

2018
This paper presents a platform for negotiating and monitoring service level agreements (SLAs) in cloud service provision. It provides evidence on the review of relevant literature on available concepts and frameworks regarding SLAs in cloud computing, leveraging some of these frameworks to design and implement the system (SLAnegmos). Negotiations are effective means of establishing quality of service attributes. However, the dynamism of cloud computing has contributed to the low numbers of SLA negotiation hence monitoring frameworks in cloud computing. The management of SLA in cloud computing has proven to be a very daunting task. However, service providers provide text-based SLAs, which gave the service users no choice but to either reject or accept as provided with a click. Furthermore, service providers only offer their monitoring tools to enhance some form of trust, making the service user an extinct actor in the SLA negotiation and monitoring process. Our proposed platform provides a level ground for negotiating and monitoring in cloud service provision thereby eliminating information asymmetry and trust issues that hitherto exist.
