The number of publications on gender in the area of research in Science Education and Biology is growing. However, there are few theoretical studies that address the theme, and even more, those that address feminist epistemological perspectives. Therefore, our aim is to present and discuss some theoretical contributions about sex/gender to the teaching of science and biology, based on the studies of Anne Fausto-Sterling. It is noteworthy that the sex/gender spectrum proposed by the author is relevant to problematize the rigid male-female or man-woman binaries, assisting in the construction of Science and Biology education aligned with body, sexual and gender diversity.
