Improving the quality of seismic data using multi-scale dip orientation adaptive filtering

2013
Noise intensity contained in different frequency or frequency band of seismic data is difference, thus noise attenuation on the full-frequency band alters the dynamic features of seismic reflection wave signal, seriously disturbing seismic data interpretation, reservoir description and so on. For this reason, we proposed a multi-scale dip orientation adaptive filtering. In this method, wavelet transform is use to decompose seismic signal, calculated diffusion tensor from structure tensor can adaptively determine the smoothing filtering direction, and the additional fault confidence measure adaptively can preserve the discontinuous structure, and the criteria of decorrelation can adaptively determine filtering iteration times. These parameters can reduce intervene and subjectivity of the interpreter, and make the implementation of this method is sample. The actual data application proved that this method has better effect on noise attenuation of seismic data, providing high quality data for interpretation and analysis.
