A Global Rating Scale and Checklist Instrument for Pediatric Laceration Repair

Introduction Laceration repair is a core procedural skill in which pediatric residents are expected to attain proficiency per the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Restricted trainee work hours have decreased clinical opportunities for laceration repair, and simulation may be a modality to fill that clinical gap. There is a therefore a need for objective measures of pediatric resident competence in laceration repair.
