A DC / DC converter (5) is a photovoltaic module (4) with other photovoltaic modules (3) connected in series, which have a different characteristic than a photovoltaic module (4). Then, when the potentially available from a photovoltaic module (4) power is at least as large as each of the other photovoltaic modules (3) output currently output, the DC / DC converter (5) is operated so that the combination of a photovoltaic module (4) to the DC / DC converter (5) has apparently the same characteristics as the other photovoltaic modules (3).
