Digital circuit components

In the real world, logic design cannot be considered in isolation from the characteristics of the components which will be used to implement the circuits. The designer must be aware of this relationship, both to make the most effective use of different technologies in different application areas (since factors such as operating speed and power consumption are strongly technology-dependent), and to be able to exploit the particular design techniques appropriate to the use of a particular form of component.
