Dielectric, magnetic and optical study of La- doped BFO-BST ceramic for multifunctional applications

2021
Abstract Composites having magnetostriction and piezoelectric behavior envisioned to reach the destination of room temperature magneto-electric (ME) coupling for practical device fabrications. For better ME coupling it is essential to acquire higher values of magnetostriction, Neel temperature (TN), resistivity and magnetization of magnetic composites. In this context we are investigating structural, dielectric, electrical and magnetic behavior of 0.5(Bi0.75La0.25Fe)O3-0.5(Ba0.5Sr0.5Ti)O3 (BLF-BST). Through Rietveld analysis of X-ray diffraction data it suggests composite have single phase orthorhombic crystal structure with pbnm space group. The dielectric study reveals both magneto-dielectric transition and transport properties investigated through impedance spectral analysis which suggests the present candidate has moderate Curie temperature (TC), high resistivity. Room temperature magnetic study reflects ferromagnetic retentively (Mr) (0.04 emu/gram) with coercive field (Hc)~3 kOe which looks better for practical device applications.
