Moreover WNT Signaling Targets arrays revealed the deregulation of 8 genes in MDS patients: CCND1 (p=0.0182), CD44 (p=0.0392), EGR1 (p=0.0300), IGF1 (p=0.0079), RUNX2 (p=0.0301), SOX9 (p=0.0032), TCF7L2 (p=0.0066) and WISP1 (p=0.0087). Preliminary data shows a significant deregulation of multiple genes belonging to PI3K/AKT and WNT signaling pathway in MDS, which may contribute to MSC dysfunction and affect their ability to support the normal hematopoiesis, participating to BM failure and myelodysplastic development.
