Oil and Natural Gas Fields in Western Europe

In Western Europe, the shear of oil consumption has been recently increased and it was forcasted that the rate of oil demand might be growing until about 50% for total energy in 1970. The production of crude oil, however, will be less than 4% for total energy demand in this area.Consequently other demands must be balanced by the resources imported from surrounding area, North Africa, Middle East and comunist countries.It was considered that the situations were very similar compared with Japanese one. Besides courrent North Seas successes had been made a opportunity of change the policy for energy in Western Europe.In this paper, the geological situations of oil and natural gas deposits have been described on every basins in Western Europe.
