IMPACTO GENERADO POR LOS VERTIMIENTOS DE LAS CURTIEMBRES EN CORRIENTES SUPERFICIALES USANDO PRUEBAS DE TOXICIDAD IMPACT GENERATED BY DUMPING OF SURFACE CURRENTS USING TANNING IN TOXICITY TESTS

2013
In Latin America the emphasis on the control of discharges and assessment of their effects on water quality of the receiving bodies has been mainly to organic pollution and pathogens. However, in recent years begun to consider the impacts caused by the dumping of toxic compounds. The assessment of chemical pollution has been limited by high costs for the quantification of each chemical contaminant , the lack of techniques to measure certain substances and poor study and development of assessment methods such contaminacion.En this study toxicity raised and made using two bodies , the Daphnia microcrustacean pulexy guppy fish , in order to estimate the impact of the discharges generated in tanning industry to surface currents , which are contaminating its high contribution of organic and inorganic. Lresultados obtained indicate that the dumping of the tannery has high levels of toxicity greater than 100 units-UT toxicity, being classified as "very toxic, this effect is presented mainly in periods which are advanced regularly tanning processes that use toxic substances such as chromium and toxicity levels sulfuro.Los found in shedding comprehensively reflect their status and the effect of this on aquatic biota, complementing shedding physicochemical information. Toxicity tests are a valuable tool in the comprehensive evaluation of the pollution caused by the productive sector. KEYWORD Acute toxicity, tanneries, bioassays, Daphnia pulex, Poecilia reticulata
