A frequency-modulated read-out system for dc SQIDs

A simple fm read-out system for dc SQUIDs is described that makes use of dc SQUIDs operated as relaxation oscillators. Measurements on system noise as well as on slew rate were performed, which demonstrate the applicability of the read-out scheme.
