Engine starting system and method

The invention relates to an engine starting system and method. The system comprises a first storage battery, a second storage battery, a double-loop controller, an ignition switch starting gear, an engine and an engine starting system body, wherein both the nominal voltage of the first storage battery and the nominal voltage of the second storage battery are first voltage, and the engine starting system body is in mechanical connection with the engine. The ignition switch starting gear is connected between the positive pole of the second storage battery and the double-loop controller, and the second storage battery supplies power to the ignition switch starting gear. The engine starting system body is connected with the positive pole of the first storage battery and the double-loop controller. The double-loop controller is connected with the positive pole of the first storage battery, the positive pole of the second storage battery and an electrical ground and used for detecting the ignition switch starting gear, controlling the first storage battery and the second storage battery to be connected in parallel or in series according to the state of the ignition switch starting gear, supplying power to a finished automobile or the engine starting system body, and outputting a control signal to the engine starting system body when the engine starting system body is electrified so that an engine can be started. By the adoption of the engine starting system and method, the starting performance of the finished automobile is improved.
