Stand and tree evaluation and modeling system. Final report

1984
The study objective is to develop a means for projecting the supply of biomass provided by the timber resource of the north central region. The North Central Forest Experiment Station's Stand and Tree Evaluation and Modeling System, STEMS, was adopted to predict future biomass based on existing levels. This required the development of central states tree growth, mortality, regeneration, and management models and the framework for projecting, summarizing, and reporting biomass. The package includes two separate reports: (1) NC-70, The User's Guide to STEMS; and (2) NC-79, A Description of STEMS.
