Behavioral Modeling ofMicrowave Amplifiers Including Large-signal andNoiseInteraction

Thesignal andnoise interaction inmicrowave amplifiers operating undernonlinear conditions ispresented in this paper. Thetheoretical output noise spectrum calculated from abehavioral modeling basedontheautocorrelation function is compared toexperimental dataobtained fromadedicated test- set. Thenoise mixing withasinusoidal signal anditsharmonics is thenwelldescribed forbothlow-pass andband-pass filtered noise. Moreover, themodeliswellsuited tofitAM-AM characteristics andtotal harmonic distortion. IndexTerms- Microwave amplifiers, noise measurements, nonlinear devices, signal andnoise, spectral analysis.
