Heredity of sterile gene and genetic effects of cytoplasmic male sterile in high combining capacity of double low B. napus

1999
M×N design was used to study genetic effects of cytoplasmic male sterile genes on 15 F_(1) Hybrids. It showed that: the genetic effects for F_(1) traits were complicated. They were controlled by additive effect, dominant effect, maternal effect and residuary effect (it maight include cytoplasmic effect, predominant effect et al.). The heredity of plant height and the erucic acid content was simple, they were controlled by maternal effect and additive effect, respectively. On the other hand, the heredity of single plant yield and 1000-seed weight were the most complicated. They were determined by additive effect, dominant effect, maternal effect, predominant effect et al. in the same time. The effects of male sterile cytoplasm on agricultural characters showed that, the effects on yield traits such as pods number, the total pods number per plant and yield of per plant were positive.
