The experimental study of effect of mycotoxin DON, T-2 and NIV on the cultural chondrocytes

1995
By using the method of chondrocytes in monolayer culture, we observed the effect of deoxynivalenol (DON)、T-2 toxin and nivalenol (NIV)on the rabbit articular chondrocytes. It was shown that the cultural chondrocytes were damaged strongly for all three kinds of toxin; that the synthesis of DNA and divided reproduvtion of chondrocytes were restrained; that the effect of damage was more evident, particularly at early stage of cultural chondrocytes, that is at the stage when damaged cells had not recovered from the cells separation adn at the stage when chondrocytes divide and reproduce vigorously; and that the membranes system including cell membrane, nucleus membrane and all subcellular organelles of the cultural chondrocytes was damaged strongly for all three kinds of toxin. The mechanism for the damage effect of my mycotoxin on cartilage may be an important clue to etiopathogenesis of Kaschin-Beck disease. The relationship between mycotoxin and Kaschin-Beck disease was discussed preliminarily.
