Impressions of Cuba

wound our way back to Havana through the tangle of back roads that had taken us to Los Naranjos. Though our car was an old Ford Falcon, its engine was drum tight. (This model had been manufactured through the early '70's in Argentina. Cuba had picked up a batch of them after one of its bumper crops in the early 70's.) Los Naranjos had an almost idyllic quality as a little village; new, clean, wellconstructed, with the harmony that comes from the fulfillment of good planning. Working class housing in Cuba, the design and spaciousness of Los Naranjos reminded me of some of the new town
