Zwitterionic molecules as doping chromophores for efficient photorefractive polymers

Zwitterionic or charge separated molecules with high ground state dipole moment can be very attractive as doping chromophores for low glass transition temperature photorefractive polymers. On a molecular level, measurements on zwitterionic compounds in solution lead to high predicted factor of merit which we actually observe in a zwitterionic molecules doped polymer.
