The research progress of inhibitor of growth family 4 and the role it played in tumor regulation

2015
Inhibitor of growth family 4(ING4) is one of the member of growth inhiitor family. In many researches upon the relationship of ING4 and tumor, it has been reported that ING4 can enhance the activity of p53 gene, and keep the contact inhibition of cells, and inhibit the invasion and metastasis of tumor, and activity of hypoxia inducible factor and the growth of tumor. It also involves in histone deacetylation, while all these functions play an inhibition role in tumor evolution and progression. Meanwhile, ING4 decrease has been found in many paracarcinoma tissues in many kinds of tum, such as glioma, bladder cancer, gastric cancer and cervical cancer. It also indicated that the expression level of ING4 is correlated with tumor progression. This review is focused on the relationship of ING4 and tumorigenesis and development, which is beneficial to identify the ING4 regulation on tumor. Key words: Inhibitor of growth factor 4; Cancer; Tumor suppressor gene
