Investigation into Growth of Iranian Journals in Scopus Database during 2000-2012

The number of Iranian indexed journals in Scopus database has increased from 8 to 113 titles in joust in 12 years (2000-2012). This unprecedented growth is related to a change in the editorial policy of Scopus database rather than to a change in the Iranian scientific community. Therefore, Islamic Republic of Iran journals’ status and efforts done to improve journals’ quantity and quality at international level are very important. The present research intends to assess indexed Iranian journals in Scopus database quantitatively and qualitatively. The present research is a descriptive survey which can be applied through Scientometrics methods. Scopus database is the data source here.
