Study on screen effect of lead ruber plate varying thickness to scatted rays in intervening operation area

2000
Objective The objective of this study is to provide scientific data for the most suitable protective depth of the individual protective article for the radio-interventional operaters. Methods The simulated conditions of radio-interventional operations were made, and the protective results of the lead rubber(of various depthes)to the scattered radiation upon the main parts of the operaters were then measured. Results The results were satisfactory:the shield effect rate of the lead rubber(0.1,0.2,0.25,0.35mm lead equivalent respectively)to the head, chest, abdomen and the lower extremities was 84.4%~930%,929%~970%,942%~982% and 958%~985% respectively. Conclusion It is suggested that the optimizational values of the projective depthes of different parts of the protective article were 0.25~0.30mm lead equivalent for the front part of the protective clothe,0.1~0.15mm lead equivalent for the back of the clothe;0.25 and 0.1mm lead equivalent for the brim and top of the protective hat respectively;and 0.25~0.30mm lead equivalent for the protective glasses and the protective mask.
