The Processing of the Economic Crisis by the News Agencies: A Comparison France/Spain

The analysis of news from the French Agency (AFP) and the Spanish agency (EFE) sheds light on a convergence in the macrostructure of the corpus and a specific treatment by the agencies of each country in the microstructure. These results have been obtained with the help of the free software Iramuteq. The impact of the experience of the crisis on media discourse is confirmed by a diachronic analysis that shows that electoral change did have an impact in both cases. A textometric approach has allowed us to make sense of the relations between the texts, the co-texts and the contexts, that is, between the socio-historical events, the producers of media discourse and the lexical structures that were used.
