Performance analysis of multi-server markovian queue with intermittently available and unreliable server

In this paper a markovian queueing system with two heterogeneous servers, one with intermittently available and unreliable server with catastrophic customers has been analyzed. Server 1 is always available and server 2 is intermittently available and is also subject to breakdowns. The entering customers form a single waiting line and arrival follows poisson process with parameter λ. The heterogeneous servers follows exponential service rates μ1 for server1 and μ2 for server2 (μ1 ≠ μ2). For this system, attained the steady state probabilities by using a matrix geometric technique. Numerical study has been analyzed in various performance measures for various values of parameters.
