El Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Baza (MAB): la génesis de un museo local

espanolEl Museo Arqueologico Municipal de Baza es un Museo joven, que ha crecido de forma muy notable en los ultimos anos, desde su creacion en 1998, hasta alcanzar en la actualidad un nivel de calidad tanto por sus instalaciones, los fondos de los que dispone y los medios auxiliares de los que esta dotado, que lo han convertido, junto con otros equipamientos culturales como el CIYA (Centro de Interpretacion de los Yacimientos Arqueologicos de Basti), ubicado dentro del BIC Zona Arqueologica de Cerro Cepero, Cerro Largo y Cerro Santuario a las afueras de la ciudad de Baza, en uno de los mejores referentes museisticos de la provincia de Granada. Una parte muy importante de sus fondos procede precisamente de las excavaciones arqueologicas que desde hace anos se vienen llevando a cabo en estos tres emblematicos yacimientos, asi como de la sierra de Baza. EnglishThe Museo Arqueologico Municipal de Baza is a young museum, which has grown notably during the last few years since its creation in 1998, to the point of reaching the high standards of quality it has nowadays. The said standards rely on its facilities, the funds supporting it and the auxiliary means it is equipped with. Such elements have made it one of the greatest museological references in the area, together with other cultural and divulgate centres such as the CIYA (Visitor Centre for the Study of the Archaeological Sites of Basti), located inside the perimeter of the BIC Archaeological Site of Cerro Cepero, Cerro Largo and Cerro Santuario), on the outskirts of Baza. A significant part of its funds is indeed raised by means of the archaeological excavations which have been taking place on the already mentioned three emblematic sites, as well as from the investigations developed in Sierra de Baza (the surrounding mountain range).
