Capsomer-Specific Fluorescent Labeling of Adenoviral Vector Particles Allows for Detailed Analysis of Intracellular Particle Trafficking and the Performance of Bioresponsive Bonds for Vector Capsid Modifications

Espenlaub et al. describe a new approach for the specific fluorescent labeling of adenoviral (Ad) vector particles. The authors show that this method can be used to specifically label the capsomer fiber, protein IX, or hexon regions of Ad. This approach was subsequently used to study intracellular trafficking of Ad5 in vitro.
