IκB KINASE INHIBITOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IκB kinase inhibitor for inhibiting IκB kinase including characteristics of (a) which lead to activation of NF-κB that causes transcriptional enhancement of a gene associated with immunity, inflammation reactions, cell growth control and apoptosis, and (b) which lead to hypofunction of IRS-1 (phosphorylation) that causes inhibiting of intracellular signaling of insulin and inhibiting of sugar taking in into cell. SOLUTION: The IκB kinase inhibitor containing at least one selected from among α-mangosteen and γ-mangosteen which are extracts prepared by being extracted from fruits or pericarps of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) with a hydrous organic solvent or an organic solvent, and a composition containing the same are provided.
