High Frequency Resonance Damping Method based on H∞ Controller for DFIG System

2020
The existing damping controllers for high frequency resonance (HFR) of DFIG system face the issue of parametric dependence, which means the effect of the damping controller cannot be maintained when the DFIG parameters change. In order to deal with this issue, this paper investigates the synthesis of the active damping controller based on H∞ theory for DFIG system. The proposed HFR damping controller has a strong robustness so that the damping effect can be maintained when DFIG parameters change. In this paper, the synthesis procedure of active damping controller is investigated, in which the parameters selection for the synthesis process is fully investigated based on the requirements of HFR damping. Furthermore, the evaluation of HFR damping effect and the corresponding simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness and availability of the proposed method.
