D09 MISCIBLE GAS INJECTION ISSUES IN A THICK CARBONATE VOLATILE OIL RESERVOIR Abstract 1 This paper discusses a number of challenges around the development by miscible gas reinjection of the Kashagan field situated in the North Caspian. The Kashagan field is a highly pressured sour carbonate oil reservoir. Due to the lack of a significant local gas market and the cost associated with treating the sour products re-injection of the associated gas is intended from early in the field development.
