Temperature dependent rate constants for O 2 (b) deactivation by O 2 (X)

2018
Rate constants for the deactivation of O 2 (b) by collisions with O 2 (X) have been determined in the temperature range from 297 to 800 K. O 2 (b) was excited by pulses from a tunable dye laser, and the deactivation kinetics were followed by observing the temporal behavior of the b 1 Σ g - X 3 Σ g transition fluorescence. The deactivation rate constants for O 2 can be represented by the expression k O2 =7.4×10 -17 ×T 0.5 ×exp(-1104.7±53.3/T).
