Methods for aiding medical decision: application to diagnosis of round intra-thoracic x-rays picture.

Abstract Bayes's theorem and Ford's Algorithm have been applied to computer diagnosis of intrathoracic round X-rays picture. The program provides the probabilities of 27 possible diseases and the best battery of tests for asserting the diagnosis. This model has been applied to 134 patients. The results are discussed.
