A novel organic-inorganic hybrid built upon molybdovanadate cluster of [V2Mo6O26]6− and {Gd(DMF)3(H2O)} units with electrochemical sensing of nitrite

Abstract A new organic-inorganic hybrid complex, [Gd(DMF) 3 (H 2 O)] 2 [V 2 Mo 6 O 26 ]·4DMF ( 1 ) (DMF = N , N -dimethylformamide), has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, elemental analyses and thermogravimetric analyses. Compound 1 exhibits the sandwich-type framework based on the [V 2 Mo 6 O 26 ] 6− anion linked by two {Gd(DMF) 3 (H 2 O)} units from opposite sides, which is first observed in molybdovanadate system. Interestingly, electrochemical experiments demonstrate that 1 -CPE exhibits good electrochemical sensing performance for sensitive detection of NO 2 − .
