Gamma-Ray Decay in Cl-36

The decays of 24 states below 4 MeV in $^{36}\mathrm{Cl}$ have been studied by use of $p\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ coincidences. The excited states were populated by the $^{35}\mathrm{Cl}(d,p)$ reaction with 3.5-MeV deuterons bombarding enriched Pb${\mathrm{Cl}}_{2}$ targets. Branching ratios were determined and the mean lives of the states were measured by the attenuated-Doppler-shift method. While the level scheme is complex, it is possible to discuss many of the transitions in terms of simple shell-model configurations. Radiative rates among some of the lowest levels are compared with a recent shell-model calculation.
