BENDING STRENGTH AND ASH CONTENT OF BONES DURING EMBRYONIC GROWTH
1982
Mechanical properties and mineral content of embryonic bone obtained from growing chick embryos were measured. The weight of the embryo, bending strength and ash content of the tibia increased linearly with the age of the embryo. A significant positive correlation between the bending strength and the mineral content of tibia was observed.
