Plant diversity and its relationship with habitat in Korqin sandy land

2007
This paper investigated and analyzed temporal and spatial variability of vegetations and heir habitats on sand dunes fixed at different levels in Korqin sandy land by means of biostatistics. The results revealed that 1) plant species diversity showed distinct discrepancy among fixed dunes with the increasing of the stabilization of sand dunes, fine particle and organic matter content increased, and thus increased plant species diversity. The plant species diversity index positively correlated to the percentage of 0.1 mm particle content on the surface, following linear function of organic content y=0.163 6x+1.230 9 or y=-0.058 1x3 +0.478 1x2-0.859 1x +1.806 5.Significant plant diversity differences were observed among different stabilized vegetation, also between moving dunes and semi-stabilized dunes;but not significant difference between among fixed dunes.2) The spatial heterogeneity of sand vegetation decreased with the increasing of the stabilization of dunes at small scales. The spatial heterogeneity negatively correlated to the percentage of 0.1 mm particle content on the surface, accordance with exponential function y=0.229 7e-0.046 1x,it's relationship with surface organic content could be indicated by the function y=0.195 5x-0.721 1) As to the windward slope of differently fixed dunes, spatial heterogeneity of vegetation in the middle part was smaller than that of upper and lower part.It was suspended in terms of whether it was caused by variability in different part of windward slope, the extent of wind erosion, deposition or ail flow characteristic which affected seed spread.
