Comparison between Circular and Hexagon Dense Focal-Plane Array Feed of Multi-beam Reflector

The Dense Focal Plane Array Feed (DFPAF) integrates the merits of multi-beam feed with multiple independent horns and phased array feed, it can simultaneously provide multiple fixed shaped beams to widen the field of view, and has attracted more attention in radio telescope, radar, satellite communication, electronic reconnaissance and so on, this promotes people to study the array-feed design and analyze its performance recently. In this paper, the circular and hexagon DFPAFs for five-hundred-meter aperture spherical telescope are designed and compared with each other to provide the theoretic and data reference in the design of giant reflector antenna with DFPAF.
