The effect of voice on indirect reciprocity: Results from the lab

2020
Abstract We use a three-person two-stage dictator game to test for the effect of voice on indirect reciprocity. We find that the amount received in a dictator game influences the subsequent giving to unrelated parties. When recipient-turned-dictators had the opportunity to leave messages to their first-stage dictators, their giving to subsequent recipients increased significantly.
