Magnetically elastic systems

The All Russian Scientific-Research Institute of Electrical Machines (ASIEM) has developped software for the calculation of electromagnetic systems, including the magnetic field, determination of the forces causing vibration, and magnetoelastic calculation. This software adopts a two-potential scalar approach in describing the magnetic field ; the magnetoelasticity problem is solved on the basis of an experimental data bank on the magnetostrictional characteristics of Russian and non-Russian ferromagnetic materials. The software presents great scope to the designer in calculating in calculating the necessary parameters. The basic equations and methods used in the software are presented in this paper.
