A Permutation-substitution Based Image Encryption Scheme with Bit-plane Exchanging Strategy

2015
A novel image encryption scheme with permutation-substitution mechanism is proposed. In the permutation process, the discrete generalized Arnold map is applied to disorder pixel positions and exchange the gray values of corresponding pixels at bit-plane pair. The continuous generalized Arnold map is utilized to generate pseudo-random sequences to realize the diffusion effect in the substitution process. One round of permutation and substitution can achieve desirable perfect security effect. The security and performance of the proposed image encryption scheme have been analyzed as well. Experimental results show that the proposed encryption scheme is secure and effective for practical application.
