Study on wind load shape factor and distribution factor of drag reduced conductor

Numerical simulation and wind tunnel test were carried out to analyze the uncertainty of wind load shape factor and wind load distribution factor of the drag reduced conductor in the code. The wind load shape factor of the drag reduced conductor in 20 m/s was calculated by numerical simulation. Through the wind tunnel test, the drag of the drag reduced conductor and the aluminum conductor steel reinforced(ACSR) in the wind speed of 10 m/s and 20 m/s at wind attack angle of 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 75°, 90° were obtained, the wind load shape factor and distribution factor were obtained through conversion and theoretical analysis. The results show that: the numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the wind tunnel test results, the shape factor of the drag reduced conductor is 0.9729 in numerical simulation, the error is 6.6% with the wind tunnel test, which accords with the reasonable range; with the increase of the wind speed in the wind tunnel test, the wind load shape factor of the drag reduced conductor decreases 14.2% faster than that of ACSR, and the value is 0.9128 in 20 m/s; the distribution factor of the drag reduced conductor in vertical direction is in accordance with sin2θ, and that in downwind direction is in accordance with 0.25 cos2θ.
