The invention relates to a vacuum pump comprising a pump housing provided with a lubricant feed channel for feeding the lubricant which is used for cooling and for lubricating support points and/or for sealing gaps in the vacuum pump. The invention is characterised in that the vacuum pump comprises a pressure control valve for the lubricant supply pressure present in the lubricant feed channel.
