Reasentamiento in Colombia

2000
Resettlement is one of the solutions that the Government of Colombia offers to displace peoples by violence, living in absolute poverty, natural disaster and civil war. The process of resettlement merits the support of the international community not only for humanitarian reasons but because the solution for involuntary resettlement is part of any strategy for post-conflict reconstruction. The report includes eight Colombia's case studies in the areas of : a place where to live; the indigenous community of Mosoco and the earthquake of 1994; the Guavio, story; the case of the peasants of Hacienda Bellacruz; the institutional response to involuntary displacement; challenges to resettlement policies; reflections to policies of involuntary resettlement; and main elements in the resettlement process.
