Electrospun scaffolds for cartilage regeneration

2016
Abstract Electrospinning is a versatile scaffold-synthesis method to produce highly porous structures composed of extracellular matrix resembling nano- and microfibers from a variety of polymeric materials. This chapter will discuss electrospinning as a suitable method to create biomimetic-engineered cartilage tissue. Additionally, it will explore the current techniques, applications, and limitations in electrospun scaffolds for the regeneration of diseased or damaged cartilage.
