Experimental investigation on peel strength during ultrasonic welding of polypropylene H110MA

2020
Abstract The present study highlights the impact of welding variables viz. weld time, hold time, and amplitude on peel strength during the ultrasonic welding (USW) of polypropylene H110MA. The study also outlines the implementation of the Taguchi methodology in order to perform the experiments. Here, the L9 orthogonal array has been selected. ANOVA has been also utilized to evaluate the influence of aforesaid process variables on the peel strength. The optimum values of process variables corresponding to cut surface with maximum peel strength are weld time = 1200 ms, hold time = 900 ms, and amplitude = 75%.
