ANALYSIS OF PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FROM HL 1M WITH OHMICALLY HEATED PLASMA
1997
The HL 1M Tokamak has been operated under an ohmically heated plasma since October 24, 1994. A maximum plasma current of 300kA was achieved with safety factor q a 2.5, line averaged density e =2.6-3.0×10 13 cm -3 , center electron temperature T e (0)1keV, center ion temperature T i (0)0.5keV and energy confinement time τ E ≈10ms. The HL 1M device, its diagnostic and data acquisition systems are summarized and a preliminary analysis of the experimental results on gas recycling, plasma equilibrium and stability is given in the paper.
