Experimental study on fiber reinforced bituminous concrete

Abstract In India flexible pavement is widely used. The major problem associated with flexible pavement is its performance. In the past studies it has been found that performance of bituminous concrete has improved with the addition of natural fiber. In this paper authors selected coir fiber as a reinforcing material. The author was focused on the Marshall Method of mix design. In this study author found that optimum bitumen content (OBC) and optimum fiber content (OFC) for 20 mm fiber length is 5.6% and 0.4% respectively.
